Further developments in POS terminals

Terminals are small computers with an operating system. Linux is still widely used today - but is increasingly being replaced by Android.
We actively support this trend: our own payment application works exclusively on Android. We implemented the international NEXO standards.

Benefits of modern terminals running on Android and nexo standards

Improved security

nexo works with cutting-edge cryptography (e.g. DUKPT AES) and long keys to protect messages against manipulation.

Several apps available in parallel

We run an app store in our own infrastructure (not in China or anywhere else) with the highest standards for data protection. In addition to the payment app, a cash register app, for example, can also be installed on the terminals.

Easier to use

Many older payment applications have been ported to Android without supporting the intuitive look and feel everyone is familiar with. Our application is specifically designed for Android.

International deployment

Almost every country has different requirements for the certification of terminals and card billing solutions.
With the help of nexo standards, we can also integrate other countries and their domestic schemes much more easily.

Take advantage of Android

Android is one of the most widely used operating systems in the world. It has been tried and tested billions of times and is therefore stable. We can draw on many components, which significantly speeds up development.

Integration of additional cards

A terminal is configured in accordance with the EMV standard. For example, many hundreds of “counters” define exactly which cards should be accepted and how. With nexo, the integration of new cards has become significantly easier.

Stationary Terminals

Stationary terminals are permanently installed at one location via a cable for power supply, Internet and, if necessary, a cash register.

Mobile Terminals

Mobile terminals are powered by a battery and are connected to the Internet via WiFi and/or mobile communications. They are also becoming increasingly popular in stationary retail because of their flexibility.
SoftPOS is a special form, turning ordinary smartphones and tablets into card terminals.

Unattended Terminals

Unattended terminals are permanently installed and connected to a vending machine or another form of unattended machine. There are variants for indoor and outdoor use, with and without a PIN-Pad to enter the PIN number, only contactless as well as with chip and magnetic stripe readers.
